Greetings from Spanish Skating Federation

On the occasion of the World Roller Figure Skating Championshipsto be held in the beautiful city of Murcia, I’d like to address a few words to all the people who will enjoy and take part in this event. The World Championship is the premier competitive event in any sport and its organization is a great responsibility. Nowdays, the discipline of figure skating has a great potential and a growing attractive in Spain. It is for this reason that we feel thrilled about competing in front of our hometown crowd in Murcia, a city well known for its organizing capacity and hospitality, and where public assistance and support will be guaranteed. From the Spanish Skating Federation, we trust in everyone's effort to make this Championship an unprecedented success.

I want to thank Murcia citizens for their ongoing support and commitment to sport in general, and particularly to figure skating. I’m sure their warmth and hospitality will translate into thousands of visitors to the Championship. MURCIA 2006 will be a top level sporting spectacle and we’ll all contribute to this “fiesta of sport”.

I’d also like to thank all municipal and autonomic institutions and sponsors, without which this World Championship wouldn't have been possible to organize. The success of this event will also be their success and that of what they represent. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication that the skaters, coaches, technical assistants, choreographists, judges, etc. have put in the preparation of this championship. I wish you the best of luck in your competitive endeavors. I express my sincere gratitude to the Organizing Committee and my firm conviction that this skating competition will be a big sports success in every dimension.
